The Vancouver Island Campaign seeks to protect this area from urban sprawl and, instead, promote regional planning and community actions that help to create a more vibrant, livable and sustainable region. Food security, ecological health, and affordable housing are just a few of the integral factors that are needed to make this a truly healthy place to live. Through this campaign we attempt to stop reckless development that ignores these other factors of regional sustainability, such as sprawling development on farmland and our wild coast. We seek to encourage regional planning and municipal decision-making that creates compact and complete communities that hold sustainability, livability and accountability to citizens at the forefront.
